“RISEBA” UNIVERSITY OF BUSINESS, ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY WILL PROMOTE THE USE OF THE LATEST TECHNOLOGIES FOR VIDEO CONTENT CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION IN COOPERATION WITH TELIA
At the beginning of this year, RISEBA and Telia Latvija initiated their cooperation, under which the company specialists will consult the students of the Bachelor’s study programme “Audiovisual Media Arts” and the Master’s study programme “New Media and Audiovisual Arts” about the use of the latest 360° video technologies and video content distribution across the global Content Delivery Network.
Telia also provides the students with a practical opportunity of using its 360° technologies for implementation of their creative ideas and development of their theses, and they can also get acquainted with and use Telia cloud service – Telia Media Services CDN video platform for safe storage, processing upon request and fast streaming of large volume of video content.
“For Telia, just like RISEBA, the path towards innovations is never-ending. Therefore, we are glad to initiate cooperation with a modern higher education institution where the future experts of audiovisual contents – film directors, operators and producers – are acquiring their education. I consider it our responsibility to prepare students and provide them with the skills necessary in this specific and rapidly expanding industry. I am sure that the students will make use of the knowledge of Telia professionals on 360° video broadcasting, organization and execution of practical recording work,” notes Mikus Ozols, the Chairman of the Board of Telia Latvija.
Meanwhile, Jānis Holšteins, the acting Dean of RISEBA Media and Communications Faculty, is delighted with the cooperation, since Telia is a company supporting the latest technologies, and it is perfectly in line with the strategic direction of the RISEBA programme “Audiovisual Media Arts”. The company has also agreed to cooperate with RISEBA on a new project unprecedented in Latvia, which will address and bring together supporters, practitioners and theoreticians of new video technologies: “The project is still kept a secret, and due to its topic, it will be unique in the Baltics and Nordic region. It will be publicly announced in the coming months but its main activity will take place on October 19-20, 2018 in the Architecture and Media Centre H2O6. The launch event will take place on April 12. The news of the forthcoming project will be published on social media. ”
Along with business and architecture programmes, RISEBA offers its students to acquire education in audiovisual media arts, which is currently the only professional Bachelor’s study programme in audiovisual industry in Latvia, as well as the only study programme in Latvia where it is possible to obtain the qualification of a television and cinema producer.
